A Business with a
Ned Drew was once the chief chemical buyer of Firestone Industrial Products. In 1971, when the plant relocated to another state, Ned decided to start his own business. In the years that followed, Ned started and ran two prosperous retail auto parts businesses and his own real estate company. In 1983, Ned had hopes of buying an existing business that would bring him back to the industrial world. He purchased Litchfield Pallet Company, a thriving business since the early 1950s. Ned’s son, Gregg, joined the business shortly after. Together, the father and son team built Drew Pallet into one of the largest pallet companies in New England today.
Today Ned lives in Warwick, Rhode Island with his wife, Leona and has been a longtime board member and past President of the J. Arthur Trudeau Memorial Center, an organization which provides comprehensive support services to children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families from all of Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts.
Gregg attended Boston University on a football scholarship and upon graduating in 1983, signed on as a free agent with the Dallas Cowboys. Unfortunately, a knee injury forced Gregg to leave the team. At just about the same time, Drew Pallet was founded and he has been a driving force behind the company ever since. Gregg's 30 years' expertise has given him a deep understanding of the business of manufacturing and managing pallet programs for companies of all sizes. Gregg lives in North Kingstown with his wife and three children. He is a volunteer tutor at the Reservoir Avenue Elementary School, active in his church and serves on the executive board of the University of Rhode Island's 5th Quarter Club, which serves as the fundraising arm of URI's football program.
In 2005, Ned's son-in-law, Dave, joined the Drew Pallet team. Dave ran a successful mortgage business for many years until the downturn of the real estate market paved the way for his career change. Dave has been an avid hockey fan since his high school days. Over the years, he has volunteered his time coaching several teams in youth hockey leagues throughout Rhode Island and currently plays on an adult hockey team. Dave lives in Warwick with his wife and two sons.
Cathi has been with Drew Pallet since 2004. She also lives in Warwick with her husband and two daughters and has served on the Mission Team of her church for many years. She actively volunteers each week in feeding ministries for the homeless and underprivileged residents of Providence and surrounding areas.
